What You Give Makes You a Life
Today I would like to share with you a few facts about giving.
Jim Rohn said “Giving starts the receiving process”.
Many think that means you give to get back, creating indebtedness by the person receiving to be sure to get back something. This is not the case.
Giving actually creates an environment of abundance and redirects your energy and focus.
Giving to others is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
The act of giving will increase your health, adding years to your life.
It has also been proven that giving increases your level of endorphins in your body creating an actual “high”. This increase in endorphins develops your immune system, improves your emotional health making you stronger, more energetic, and may also reduce aches and pains.
Helping others is better than exercising four times a week!
Becoming a giver at an early age will bring positive effects throughout your entire life. Giving can help with chronic illnesses such as HIV, MS and heart problems. The single greatest act to extend life in your later years, giving!
What you get makes you a living, what you give makes you a life!

My theory: giving is actually very selfish! Can you understand why?
Just reading what you wrote will motivate some people to start giving more. Why?
Does it matter WHAT you give, or HOW you give, or what your thoughts actually are about giving?
What is the “proper” balance between receiving and giving?
Just some more food for thought…;-)

You have some great questions Jim. The motivation for giving should be to help others. The benefit you receive is a bonus. As far as balance, what you receive back will often be ten fold of what you give, karma controls the “balance”. With regard to what you give, it is often a good idea to give what you need, ie: when you need courage, encourage, when you need time, give time, when you need to be inspired, inspire. If giving is selfish does that mean you should not give or should you give more? Very stimulating, Thanks Mtn. Jim.
